About
Child and Adolescent Psychologists have a particular interest in assessing and treating psychological problems that arise in childhood and adolescence.

This can be a time of both disorientation and discovery and can cause issues of independence, self-identity, peer pressure, stress and anxiety. Â
Psychology can assist in the transitional stages and our therapists provide evidence-based models to understand the causes of the difficulties and apply strategies to assist with them.

A thorough assessment usually involving the parents, teachers, and other key support people is undertaken to understand the situation in depth.
Individual sessions and group counselling to support issues such as:
Behavioural difficulties or oppositional behaviours
Shyness and social anxiety
Depression and generalised anxiety
School refusal
Eating disorders
Stress and time management
Family change and adjustment (e.g., divorce/separation, grief and loss)
Conflict resolution
Peer pressure, bullying and/or difficulties with social situations
