Counselling Services

At Woodside Centre, our counselling services are provided by qualified and registered practitioners with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Depending on your circumstances and insurance provider, you may be eligible to claim rebates or access external funding support for your sessions.

We recommend reviewing your individual policy or speaking directly with your provider to confirm eligibility, as rebate availability varies across insurers and funding schemes.

Private Health Insurance Rebates
Clients with Private Health Insurance may be eligible to claim rebates for counselling services under their Extras cover. Eligibility, rebate amounts, and session limits vary depending on your insurer and level of cover.

We encourage clients to contact their health fund directly to confirm their specific entitlements prior to attending their appointment.

Overseas Health Cover (OSHC & OVHC)
If you hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) or Overseas Visitor Health Cover (OVHC), you may be eligible to claim rebates for counselling services.

Coverage varies significantly between providers and policy types. We recommend checking directly with your insurer to confirm what is included under your plan.
Other Funding Options
Victims Assist Queensland (VAQ)
Eligible clients may access funding for counselling support through Victim Assist Queensland following experiences of violent crime or abuse. Approval is required prior to treatment, and funding is subject to individual assessment by VAQ.

CTP Insurance (Motor Vehicle Accidents – MAIC Queensland)
Clients who have been injured in a motor vehicle accident may be eligible for counselling funded through Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance in Queensland. All funding is subject to insurer approval and claim acceptance.

WorkCover
Counselling services may be funded through WorkCover Queensland for individuals with an approved workplace injury claim. Once approved, sessions can be invoiced directly to WorkCover in line with their billing requirements.

NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)
Some clients may be able to access counselling under the NDIS Capacity Building budget, including Improved Daily Living supports.

Eligibility depends on your individual plan and goals. We can work with you, your support coordinator, or plan manager to confirm funding availability and assist with service agreements and invoicing.

Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
Many employers offer confidential counselling support through Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). If your workplace provides EAP services, you may be able to access fully or partially funded sessions through your employer’s nominated provider.

As funding arrangements can vary, we recommend contacting us directly so we can provide tailored information based on your specific circumstances and help you navigate the process.

Clients are welcome to access counselling services on a private fee-paying basis. Our team can provide information on current session fees upon enquiry.

Indirect Fees
Why Should Someone Be Aware of Indirect Fees?
Understanding indirect fees is important because they reflect the additional work and resources that go into providing high-quality care beyond direct therapy sessions. These fees cover essential behind-the-scenes activities like session preparation, research, creating customised resources, writing case notes, and consulting with other professionals involved in your child’s care. Being aware of these fees ensures transparency and helps families understand the full scope of services provided.
Knowing about indirect fees also aids in budgeting and planning for your child’s comprehensive care. These fees support the overall effectiveness of therapy by allowing therapists to dedicate the necessary time and effort to tailor their approach to each child's unique needs. This personalised attention is crucial for achieving the best outcomes and ensuring that every aspect of your child's development is addressed.
To maintain transparency and clarity, indirect fees are listed as a separate line item on your bill. This breakdown helps you see exactly what you are being charged for and understand the various components of the care your child receives.
