Rachael Chalmers is a Director and Senior Psychologist at Woodside Centre with over 20 years of experience across clinical and assessment settings. She works from a neurodiversity-affirming framework and is highly regarded for her comprehensive diagnostic assessments for ADHD and Autism across the lifespan.

With expertise in evaluating ADHD, Autism, and various psychosocial and developmental assessments, Rachael possesses extensive knowledge to offer a thorough insight into your child's development. She takes care to understand each individual’s unique profile, recognising both strengths and support needs, and ensuring that clients and families feel heard, understood, and validated throughout the process. Her reports are detailed, clear, and practical, offering meaningful guidance for supports at home, school, and in the workplace.

In addition to ADHD and Autism assessments, Rachael has extensive experience identifying and differentiating co-occurring conditions. She helps differentiate overlapping or co-occurring conditions, ensuring each person’s profile is accurately understood and that recommendations are precise, individualised, and meaningful.

She has particular expertise in working with gifted and twice-exceptional individuals, where high ability can sometimes mask or complicate the identification of neurodevelopmental differences. Rachael is passionate about ensuring these nuanced profiles are understood and supported in ways that honour each person’s identity, strengths, and potential.

Alongside her assessment work, Rachael is committed to advocacy, education, and helping individuals and families make sense of their experiences through a strengths-based, neuro-affirming lens.
